The Nest

At St Michael Catholic Primary and Nursery, we believe every child should feel valued, included and supported to flourish. Our NEST provision offers a nurturing environment designed to maximise each child's engagement, wellbeing and opportunities for learning. It supports children with special educational needs (SEN), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), who find learning within a mainstream classroom challenging. Each child receives a tailored support plan that builds on their strengths, interests and individual needs, with carefully adapted teaching to help them overcome barriers and make meaningful progress. We develop children's confidence, communication and independence, while ensuring they remain connected to and included in our wider school community.

Rooted in our Catholic belief that every child is uniquely created and loved by God, the NEST is a place of belonging, where each child’s gifts are celebrated and they are supported to learn, grow and flourish.
