Our Parish
St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church
St Michael’s Catholic Primary School is proud to be part of the parish of St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, our local Roman Catholic church in Chatham. The parish is located next door to the school on Hill’s Terrace and has been at the heart of the Catholic community in Medway for many generations. Originally built in 1862-1863, St Michael’s was the first Catholic church in the area and continues to serve as a welcoming and active parish community today.
Our Parish Priest is Fr Godwin Alkali CSSp, who works closely with the school and supports our children, families and staff in their faith journey. We are also supported by Fr Dominic Alih CSSp, Assistant Priest.
The church remains a vibrant centre of worship, prayer and community life. Families are warmly welcomed to attend Mass and take part in parish events and celebrations. Our school enjoys a strong partnership with the parish, helping to nurture the spiritual development of every child.
Our pupils visit St Michael the Archangel Church throughout the year for school Masses, liturgical celebrations, sacramental preparation and opportunities for prayer and reflection. This close relationship helps children grow in faith, understand the importance of belonging to a Catholic community and experience the richness of parish life.
