Prayer Leaders
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works.” Hebrews 10:24
At St. Michael Catholic Primary School, our Prayer Leaders play an important role in nurturing the spiritual life of our school community. Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love,” our Prayer Leaders encourage others to grow in faith through prayer, service and acts of kindness.
Prayer Leaders help to strengthen our Catholic ethos by supporting prayer and liturgy, leading worship opportunities and encouraging others to live out the values of the Gospel in their daily lives. Through their dedication and commitment, they help create a welcoming community where faith is celebrated and everyone is encouraged to deepen their relationship with God.
Every act of prayer, kindness and service helps us to grow together as a community of faith and brings us closer to God.

Prayer Leaders in Action
Beginning of the Year Mass
Our Prayer Leaders travelled to St George's Cathedral to celebrate the Beginning of the Year Mass alongside pupils and staff from Catholic schools across the Diocese.
This special celebration provided an opportunity to come together as a wider Catholic family, celebrate our shared faith and reflect on the year ahead. The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop John Wilson and reminded us of the importance of living out our faith through kindness, compassion and service to others.

Our Plans for Term 1
During Term 1, our Prayer Leaders will be involved in a variety of activities that support the prayer life of the school and strengthen our Catholic community.
Beginning of the Year Mass
Prayer Leaders will help to prepare and lead the Beginning of the Year Mass by organising prayers, readings and music, ensuring that pupils have opportunities to actively participate in the celebration.
St Francis of Assisi Meditation Assembly
Prayer Leaders will plan and deliver a whole-school meditation assembly inspired by St Francis of Assisi. Through reflection and learning linked to Laudato Si', pupils will explore how we can care for one another and our common home.
Rosary Prayer Opportunities
During October, Prayer Leaders will organise a Rosary timetable, enabling classes across the school to gather in prayer and deepen their understanding of this special devotion.
Harvest Festival and Community Support
Prayer Leaders will work alongside the Mini Vinnies to support the Harvest Festival by helping to organise donations of food and essential items for Medway Foodbank, serving those in need within our local community.
Through these opportunities, our Prayer Leaders aim to promote prayer, reflection, service, compassion and a strong sense of belonging throughout our school.
Called to Serve Others
We gathered together to celebrate the Beginning of the Year Mass, led by Fr Godwin and prepared by our Prayer Leaders.
The theme, "Reaching Out with Love," reminded us of Jesus' example of healing, compassion and service. Through this celebration, we reflected on how we can show kindness, courage and understanding to those around us, following Jesus' example by reaching out to others with love and care each day.

Inspired by Mother Teresa
Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa, we are committed to serving others and doing small things with great love. Her message reminds us that even the simplest acts of kindness can make a significant impact in our community.
As Prayer Leaders, we strive to be examples of faith in action, encouraging others through prayer, service and acts of love. Together, we seek to build a school community where everyone feels welcomed, valued and inspired to follow Jesus.
