School Uniform
At St Michael Catholic Primary and Nursery School, we believe that a smart school uniform promotes a sense of belonging, encourages pride in our school community and helps create a positive learning environment.
We are committed to ensuring that our uniform is affordable and provides good value for families. Parents and carers may purchase generic items from a retailer of their choice where a branded item is not required.
Required School Uniform (Reception to Year 6)
Branded Items (Required)
- Maroon school jumper with school logo
- Maroon school cardigan with school logo (alternative to jumper)
- School tie with school logo

Generic Items (Required)
These items do not need to be purchased from a specific supplier and may be bought from any retailer:
- White shirt (long-sleeved or short-sleeved)
- Grey trousers
- Grey shorts
- Grey skirt
- Grey pinafore dress
- White or grey socks
- Black school shoes (trainers and trainer-style shoes are not permitted)
Summer Uniform
During warmer weather, pupils may additionally wear:
- Red or pink checked summer dress
- White or grey socks
These items are optional alternatives to the standard uniform and may be purchased from any retailer.
Physical Education (PE) Uniform
Children should attend school wearing their PE kit on their allocated PE days, including swimming days.
Required PE Uniform
- White polo shirt (with or without school logo)
- Black shorts
- Black jogging bottoms (for colder weather)
- Black plimsolls or trainers
Branded PE Items (Optional)
Parents may choose to purchase PE items with the school logo, although plain alternatives are acceptable unless otherwise specified.
Optional Items
The following items are optional:
- School cardigan (as an alternative to the school jumper)
- Summer dress
- Logo PE clothing
- Additional school accessories available from the uniform supplier

Pre-Loved Uniform
We are pleased to offer pre-loved uniform to support families and promote sustainability.
Good quality second-hand uniform is available through the school. Parents and carers wishing to purchase pre-loved uniform should contact the School Office for further information regarding availability.

Jewellery and Appearance
For reasons of health and safety, pupils should not wear jewellery to school other than small stud earrings. These must be removed or covered for PE lessons.
Long hair should be tied back where appropriate. Extreme hairstyles and hair colours are not permitted.
