Term 5 in Forest School and what a difference in the weather! It’s good to see the children wearing their summer uniform! However, the warmer weather also means the Forest School environment has changed. Plants are growing (including nettles)! and insects are more prominent as they look for food. Because of this it is a good idea to make sure your child brings long trousers to wear so that their legs are covered. Old trainers or boots are still necessary too. The younger children have been competing in egg and spoon races while the older children have been building – and competing on – obstacle courses using natural resources. It is really good to see the competitive spirit, determination and camaraderie of the children on the one hand, while they appreciate and admire the ever changing face of nature on the other. And there is always time to find out what’s hiding where!
